This a Live Zoom Workshop 6.30-8.30pm UK  time  Tuesday 29th July

With this lovely siunshine we have been having, I wanted to create an embroidered lace suncatcher.

Sewing organza flowers in a heart shape on a soluble fabric and outlining with wire before we wash it is how we create our cuncatchers.

If  you already have a craft soldering iron with a fine tip , then great, you will be able to cut out  your synthetic organza  flowers with that. If you don't own one, not to worry, you can cut out your flowers with sharp scissors, they may just a fray a little, but that's ok.

If you use an organza that is shot with two colours, you will get  a lovely effect when the sun shines through it.

You can use any colour thread and organza, you can use a complimentary thread colour or a contrast. You can edge the flowers with a black thread if you want the look to be bolder and to resemble stained glass.

This is a great class for people who can already free machine embroider. As time won't be spent discussing " how to FME" this isn't a class suitable for complete beginners.

It is a relaxed zoom session and my small numbers always ensure  a "workshop" feel to the class rather than a lecture.  I will be able to help you throughout the workshop as you sew along with me.

The class will have a maximum of 10 participants. I like to be able to interact with you all throughout the workshop.

There will be a comfort break during the class

You are able to view the requirements list before you purchase a place.

When you purchase a place on this zoom class you will receive the zoom log in details,  details of the materials that you will have to get for the workshop and any preparation that you will need to do before the class. It is emailed to you immediately.

Please print off all pages and keep the link safe so you can log on in the evening.

It is in a PDF format

    • Thread- machine embroidery rayon thread eg Madeira Classic 40 or Gutermann polyester thread or cotton threads. I have used a black thread on one suncather to define the flowers
