This is a live zoom class that is at 6.30-8.30pm UK Time on Tuesday 28th July
 
This is a workshop where I will be showing you how to create dresses out of folded fabric, Origami style, to hang up as bunting.
 
The dresses can be decorated with free motion embroidery, pieces of lace, ribbon, flowers, beads,  sequins, the list goes on.....
 
Perfect for your sewing room, a wedding , a baby's room, by varying the combination of fabrics you can create a lovely theme for  your bunting.
 
We will focus on following the pattern for the folding, decorating one with stitching and securing in place with a few more stitches.
 
I will then demonstrate other ways in which you can decorate your dresses using a  few surprising things!
 
It is a relaxed zoom session and my small numbers always ensure  a "workshop" feel to the class rather than a lecture.  I will be able to help you throughout the workshop as you sew along with me.
 
The class will have a maximum of 10 participants.
 
There will be a comfort break during the class

When you purchase a place on this zoom class you will receive the log in details, pattern, details of the materials that you will have to get for the workshop and any preparation that you will need to do before the class. It is emailed to you immediately when you book. It is in a PDF format and you will need to be able to print off patterns.

Equipment Required for the Workshop:

An ordinary sewing machine

A free machine embroidery foot ( also know as a darning foot or a free motion quilting foot) It doesn’t come as standard with a lot of machines and has to be bought separately. If you have a quilting kit, it’s often in there. Please ask if you need more information

90 or 100 universal machine needle or Topstitch Needle

Hand sewing needles

Fabric scissors

Paper scissors

Rotary cutter and mat if you have one and suitable ruler

Iron and ironing board./mat

Materials

Each dress requires;

2 pieces of fabric and 1 piece of Bondaweb 21.5cm x 19 cm ( 8 1/2" x 7 1/2" )

Suitable fabrics-Fine cotton lawn, cotton, Dupion silk, can be plain, patterned, spotty.

Unsuitable fabrics- Sheer fabrics, organzas, silk or synthetic, habutai silk

Machine embroidery thread- I use Madeira Rayon

Baking Parchment

We will discuss threads and materials in the class and what ribbons , cords you could use to finish off your bunting

In order for a zoom workshop to run, I require a minimum of 5 students enrolled. I reserve the right to cancel or postpone a workshop 5 working days before the starting date if I do not get the minimum registration needed.

In the rare event that I need to cancel a workshop, you will receive a full refund.

If you are unable to attend a workshop then you must give me a minimum of 48 hours notice and you will receive a workshop credit for another workshop.

After this withdrawal period, credits will not be given due to my small class size.
