Treasured Trinket Workshop

New dates later in the year
  • This workshop is all about turning a small, treasured piece of fabric into a "Treasured Trinket" so that you can wear it with love.

If you want to make a keepsake from baby clothes, a wedding dress, or a favourite shirt and want to make something that you can wear, then this workshop may just be what you are looking for.

You will free motion embroider your fabric to a piece of soluble fabric. You will make a heart, rectangle or a shape of your choice. You then wash and dry your embroidery and you make your pendant backing. The two pieces are stitched together, leaving a gap to stuff your piece. It is stitched up and then you will create a decorative, scallop edge.

You will make a word out of metal and hand sew that to your pendant. Beads and crystals can then be wired and stitched, beautifully embellishing it. You will make the findings out of wire to match/ contrast with your pendant and hang it on a simple cord / leather thong.

If you would prefer to wear it as a brooch, brooch backs are also available.

This is great workshop for trying a little soluble fabric and to learn ways to embellish textiles. You will also have a very special keepsake.

If you don't have any fabric of your own there will be some plain silks and fine cotton lawns provided to choose from.
