This relaxed yet informative day will teach you how to free machine embroider on three different kinds of soluble fabric.
Christmas Decorations: Free-Machine Embroidery
The course is for people who would love to learn what some of the different soluble fabrics do and why you would use one particular one rather than another for your project.
The day is designed so that you make three projects by free-machine embroidering on three different soluble fabrics. The projects will have a Christmas theme.
Starting with layering on Avalon you will create a little lacy, textured bowl that is finished with beads stitched around the top. This bowl would be perfect to hold a few sweeties or a battery operated tealight, perfect for the festive season.
The second project uses the thicker Romeo soluble fabric to create a fabric strip using ribbon, lace and strips of material.. As well as free machine embroidery we will be using the decorative stitches on the sewing machine which can be very effective. Stars for your Christmas tree will be cut out and decorated with crystals.
The third project is creating a lacy embroidered bauble on Aquasol / Solufleece. I will show you how sewing over wire to create your bauble shape is not terrifying.
All three projects are quick and effective giving you plenty of time to create more at home in time for Christmas.
You don't have to have done much free machine embroidery as the projects do not require precise free machine embroidery.
Please bring a plastic container with you to take your projects home with you. You will need to finish your bowl by sewing beads on it at home but the beads will be provided for you.
